Sci-Fi section in National Bookstore

Devoured by Amanda Marrone on the Science Fiction section? Riiiiight.

I checked, it wasn’t a random book accidentally placed there by some random shopper who decided not to get it. A stack of Amanda Marrone books were right there on the Sci-Fi section. She writes Urban fantasy for crying out loud. You can even tell by looking at the cover even if you don’t read the blurb.

FireFox reaches 1-billionth download

Firefox has been making big waves in the Internet for the past few years, crossing its billionth-download threshold last Friday. A big congratulations to all of the guys working on Firefox – you guys truly made a difference in the browser arena.

I started using Firefox a couple of years ago and haven’t stopped using it since then. The only time I open Internet Explorer nowadays is to do cross-browser compatibility checks.. something I hate doing. IE is so antiquated, slow, and at times you may even say its downright dangerous with so many security holes that expose users to virus, spyware, and other online threats!

Does Sex in Advertising Really Sell?

Sex in advertising has stirred controversy around the globe for years. In a very competitive market, consumers are constantly surrounded by advertisements that desperately compete for attention so the guys at the creative department try to get a “creative” (or rather, perverted) idea out the door and hope that the client is dumb enough to get sold on it. Apparently, there are a number out there.

I compiled a couple of ads that most would deem particularly perverted, insulting, scandalous, or just plain disturbing.

We all know that PETA advocates vegetarianism.. they certainly took it to the extreme on this one. When the network pulled out the ad, PETA said the network had something against veggies. Hmm.. riiiiight.
